C. A. Haskill informs us that Ancil Fletcher died at his home in Barren Creek Township, Aug. 25, and was buried at the Haskill burial ground on the 26th. The deceased died of bilious fever. He was about 45 years old and had quite a large family.
(Note: Ancil came to Arkansas with his family around 1855. The family settled near the White River at the south base of a mountain that would become known as Fletcher Mountain.
Also Note: His first name is spelled Ancil, Ancel, or Ansal in various documents.}
