Medina Co. Gazette - August 15, 1895: Lillian, wife of William C. Thayer, died at her home south of town Sunday afternoon of nervous prostration, aged 40 years. She was a daughter of Dr. Albertson of Remson Corners. The funeral was held Tuesday and was largely attended. Interment at Spring Grove cemetery.

Medina Co. Gazette - September 5, 1895: The announcement of the death of Mrs. W. C. Thayer came as a great shock to the people of Montville, most of whom were not aware of her serious illness. Her death seems especially sad because she had only approached the meridian of life, the sphere from which we expect life's noblest effort and best work. She has been a useful, honored and respected member of socity in Montville since her marriage to Mr. Thayer, universally loved and respected for her sterling and worth and christianship.
We shall to-day for a few moments in the great journey say the last farewell words over a new made grave. A comrade in the battle of life has fallen. But yesterday a commanding presence moved in our midst which we shall see no more, a voice of good cheer was heard which is now hushed forever, a towering intellect shed its light on human affairs which has now joined other councils than those of earth, a living face has gone out from amoung us and every scene of moral concern. As a woman of fine, natural gifts, and high accomplishments her loss will be sadly felt, not only in her own family but in the community in which she lived. the Montville Grange, of which she was a memeber, has lost, I think, its ablest lady member.
Take the following brief obituary noice from Mrs. Tiden's letter. Lillian M. Alberton was born in Granger, Medina County,
December 30, 1854, the daughter of S. H. Albertson and wife, and was married to W. C. Thayer, December 23d, 1879, and died at her home in Montville, August 11th, 1895, of inflammation of the stomach and nervous prostration. The funeral servies which were largly attended, were conducted by Rev. Nichols from her late home on Tuesday, August 13. She leaves in her immediate family a husbannd, two fathers, two brothers, and two sisters.
The fact that Will is left entirely alone with an aged father to care for calls out the deepest sympathy from our people.
