Mrs. Aileen Hawks Snow, 69, died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Wesley Long Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, at Philadelphia Baptist Chapel with Rev. Joe Chandler officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Snow was born on November 27, 1939, in Winston-Salem and then moved to Lamsburg, Virginia, and Aberdeen before moving to Greensboro, where she has resided for 59 years. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Chapel.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alex "Papa" Hawks, in 1960; a brother, Wade Hawks, in 2004, and her mother, Theo "Granny" Hawks, in 2005.

Survivors include three children, James Maxwell Snow and wife, Kim, Cynthia Snow Edwards and husband, David, and Tammy Aileen Snow; a sister, Pauline Hawks Ingle; a brother, Aldene Parker Hawks; six grandchildren, CPL CR Thomas (USMC), Montana Maggie Mae Snow, Ashley Edwards, Paul Edwards, Scotty Snow, Trish Jurado and Lucy Jurado; three great-grandchildren, Sydney Valenzuela, Rosetta Valenzuela and Adriana Valenzuela.
