The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. W. H. Calcutt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Britt, a native of Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Clarence Davidson Barker and Sallie Pauline Rich Barker. She was a member and past president of the Eastern Star Clinton chapter, a member of the Clinton Woman's Club and the American Business Women's Association. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church, a charter member of their WMU, was a past church treasurer, the church organist and pianist and taught the nursery for many years. She was a mother to everyone. She retired after working for 42 years as an accounting supervisor at CP&L.
Mrs. Britt is survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles Britt of the home; a sister, Elsie Lee Honeycutt of Clinton; three brothers, Edward Barker and his wife, Helen Rose, Alton Barker and his wife, Wilda, and Charles Barker and his wife, Edna, all of Clinton; and a host of very special nieces and nephews.
