Mrs. Mary Alice Ison
Mrs. Mary Alice Ison, 84, Burke, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at her residence after a sudden illness. Born Feb 10, 1886, in Elliott County, she was a daughter of the late James and Sarah Rucker Friley. She was a member of the Rocky Branch Enterprise Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Albert Ison; three sons, Homer and Elmer Ison of Isonville and Linville Ison of Dayton, O, four daughters, Mrs. Blanche Barker of Grayson, Mrs. Bessie Skaggs of Rt. 2, Sandy Hook, and Mrs. Jewell Gillium and Mrs. Sarah Lou Gillium, both of Burke; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Barker and Mrs. Gispie Myers, both of Portsmouth, and two brothers, Peace Fraley of Burke and J.B. Fraley of Portsmouth, O. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Rocky Branch Enterprise Baptist Church by the Rev. Vernon Dickerson and the Rev. Clayis Adkins. Burial will be in Elliott County Memory Gardens at Sandy Hook. The body is at the Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook where friends may call.
