Jay B Fraley
Jay B Fraley, 89, of Portsmouth, Ohio, formerly of Elliott County, died Friday, January 31,1997, at Scioto Memorial Hospital in Portsmouth. He was born June 24, 1907, in Elliott Co KY a son of the late James and Sarah Rucker Fraley. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Lafe Fraley and eight sisters, Peace Fraley, Mary Ison, Laura Barker, Lena Barker, Giftie Myers, Ollie Sparks, Mattie Barker and Violet Fraley. Jay was a retired production worker at Impire Detroit Steel at New Boston, Ohio. He attended Mabert Road Baptist Church at Portsmouth, was a member of U.S. Works of america and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Junius Sparks Fraley; a son, James Elmon and wife, Joe Ellen Fraley of Portsmouth, Ohio; two grandchildren, Stephen and Allison Ellsesser. Funeral services were conducted at 1pm Monday, Feb 3 at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Williams officiating. Burial followed in Elliott Co Memory Gardens with Lewis and Ferguson Funeral Home of Sandy Hook in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Stephen Ellsesser, Howard Genperline, Dave Schroeder, Ronald Wheeler, Frank Gilliam and Joe McKelvey.
