Peggy was born Oct. 24, 1925, to Carl L. and Rose Bolick Brooks
She was educated in the Hickory City Schools and was a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne College. She was a retired public school teacher. Her 31-year teaching career included years at Banoak, Granite Falls, Bethlehem and Sugar Loaf schools. She had a true love of education and her children.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hickory and had a great love for the members of her Sunday school class.
Peggy was a member of the North Carolina Retired Teacher's Association and the National Teachers' Association. She had several hobbies, including crocheting, needlepoint and photography.
She was generous with everyone she met, often gifting them with her "projects." She also had a love of genealogy and kept extensive family histories.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Carl Brooks Jr. and Ben B. Brooks. She is survived by one sister-in-law, one niece; four nephews; and five great-nieces and great-nephews and their children.
Peggy loved her family and leaves them with excellent family history information to be treasured forever.
