Janie married Oscar Hunt about 1905 at Hartshorne, Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory. They were to have nine children.
Census records show that the family lived in Haileyville and then Hartshorne, Oklahoma, through 1930. The family then lived near McAlester before moving in the early 1940s to live a short time at Talihina before settling at Wister, Oklahoma, where they lived the rest of their lives.
Janie was living with her daughter Margie in Tucson, Arizona, when she died August 20, 1974 at age 90. Her remains were brought to Hartshorne for burial by her husband, Oscar Hunt.
