Alwin Howell Hunt was the second child of John Anderson Hunt and Mary Catherine Cook Hunt. He was born July 31, 1899 in Hartshorne, Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory. His older brother, Herbert Anderson Hunt, had been born in May 1896, also in Hartshorne.
Alwin Howell Hunt died July 10, 1901, a few days short of being two years old. At that time, his father was City Marshal of Hartshorne.
