Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Criss Brothers Funeral Home for Fred Ayers, 64, of 52 Stanberry St., Maj. and Mrs. Elbert L. Holmberg will officiate, with burial in Wilson Cemetery.
Mr. Ayers died Thursday in Licking County Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient since April 3.
He was born in Licking County Oct.3, 1903 to Samuel and Mary Melton Ayers.
A lifetime resident of Newark, he was employed at Emch Auto Wrecking Co., retiring five years ago. He was a member of the Salvation Army.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret R. Price Ayers of the home; a daughter, Miss Flora Ayers of the home; two sons: Roger and Patrick Ayers, also of the home: a step-daughter Miss Faith Grigsby of the home and three step-sons: James of the home, Sgt. David Grigsby of Ft. Campbell KY; and Samuel Grigsby of Newark; a sister, Mrs. Idabell Glenn and a brother, James Ayers, both of Newark, and three grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Saturday and Sunday in the funeral home.
