Anna "Annie" Wulff was born in Germany and immigrated to America with her parents and siblings. They arrived in New York, New York on November 25, 1881 in from Hamburg aboard the "Silesia". The family settled in Douglass Township, Montcalm County, Michigan that same year where they bought a farm and homesteaded.

On January 7, 1894 Anna who was 18 years old married Samuel J. Reed a 35 year old widower with 3 children under 11. Their wedding took place in Montcalm County, Michigan. Samuel and Anna went on to have two children who died at a very young age.

Samuel died in 1929 and Anna moved West to Oregon where two of her older sisters were living. Anna married Randolph M. Wardle a widower and they lived in Carlton, Yamhill County, Oregon.
