Ellison Paul Leatherwood was born December 25, 1919 in Jack County, Texas to David Wesley and Maggie (Breech) Leatherwood. He is preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers and 1 sisters. Paul passed away Tuesday October 24, 2006 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 86 years.

He married Hazel Lee Graves on November 13, 1946 in Jack County, Texas. He was a retired oilfield drilling contractor, Leatherwood Drilling Company in Kermit, Texas. He served in the United States Army during World War II, where he spent 3 1/2 years as a prisoner of war; he was a member of the Lost Battallion; the Masonic Lodge; the Shriners; and the First Baptist Church in Jacksboro.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Leatherwood of Jacksboro, TX; daughter, Paula Price and husband, Ronny of Midland, TX; son, Jimmy Leatherwood and wife, Debbie of Athens, TX; 4 grandchildren, Christi; Ronda; Jessica; and Katie; 2 great-grandchildren, Sophie and Seth.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Jacksboro or to the Jacksboro Concerned Citizens.

Visitation will be 5 - 6 p.m. Thursday.

Service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Jacksboro, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery.
