Adaline East of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, January 12, 1999, at Hospitality House in Bedford. Born on November 13, 1910, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Henry "Dutch" and Pheba (Barrett) Eker. She married Frank Van Duncan, Paul Koch, and Perry East, respectively. All three men preceded her in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Laura Lynn Keller, Huntingburg, IN; one son, Perry T. East, Bedford; three step-daughters: Mary Lou Hillenburg, Heltonville, Betty Short, Newark, OH, and Genny Steward, Franklin, OH; nine grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters: Carol Duncan and Frankie Hilderbrand; one son, Richard Dale Duncan; one sister; three brothers; and two grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Services for Adaline East will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 1999, in the Elmwood Chapel of The Day & Carter Mortuary with the Reverend Don Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery.
