BABY, YEAR AND A HALF OLD, IS POISON VICTIM

Baby Son of Mr. and Roy Braden, Dies Last Evening.

WAS SICK LESS THAN 24 HOURS

Ptomaine poisoning claimed the life of a little baby last evening. Ernest Victor Bradburn, 18 months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bradburn living at 1014 Daisy street, was the victim.

According to Dr. M. B. Stewart, who attended the baby, it died in the most violent convulsions he had ever seen.

Mrs. Bradburn had put, the baby to bed about 5:30 Thursday evening and about 9 o'clock she went into the bedroom to see if it was alright. She found the babe in spasms.

Mother Frightened

The mother became frightened and catching up the baby ran to the home of Sam Brough, a neighbor, where she asked that a doctor be summoned.

Efforts to locate a physician at once were in vain and the police were requested to get in touch with one. Dr. M. B. Stewart was in the Owl Drug Store across the street from the headquarters. He was approached and went at once to the home.

Held Out No Hope

Dr. Stewart found the baby in very serious condition. He was able to stop the convulsions but said that even at that time he could see that the baby could not pull through.

The babe suffered another convulsion at 3 o'clock yesterday morning and yesterday afternoon Dr. Stewart spent most of the time at the home in an effort to relieve the pain. Death occurred at 6:35 last evening.

Cause Unknown

Mrs. Bradburn told Dr. Stewart, he said last night, that she did not know what the baby might have eaten. It is supposed that in playing about the yard it. came upon a mouldy bread crust or meat bone which, it had placed in its mouth

The body was removed to the home of the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Cyrenus Hobaugh, 1825 Erie avenue, from where the funeral will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Burial will take place in Mt. Hope cemetery.
