Ralph William Hoffmeier June 27, 1929 - December 11, 2006

Ralph William Hoffmeier passed away December 11, 2006 at his home. He was seventy-seven years old.

He was born June 27, 1929 to William and Sadie (Peters) Hoffmeier. He was baptized August 4, 1929 at
St. John's Lutheran Church, Charter Oak. He was confirmed in 1943 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Buck Grove.
On August 28, 1949 he was united in marriage to Marion Didier at St. John's Lutheran Church in Buck Grove.
To this union they were blessed with five handsome boys.

Ralph grew up on the farm in the Buck Grove area. Before his retirement he enjoyed farming, working for the
county as a mechanic, and driving the maintainer. In his spare time he enjoyed going to auctions.

Ralph had many hobbies and interest in his life. He enjoyed collecting antiques, woodworking, reading books,
tinkering, tractors, and spending time outside. Ralph had a pen and pencil collection that he started as a child.
He was still adding to that collection until today. He loved sitting outside and waving to the people passing by.

Ralph loved spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the neighbor kids. Grandpa had a motto:
Don't spoil them just give them everything they want.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his son Dennis. Survivors include his loving wife Marion of Denison; four sons,
Byron and his wife Diann of Denison; Loren of Polk City, Iowa; Ron and his wife Cindy of Denison; Kevin and his
wife Deb of Magnolia; Ralph had seven grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren,
nine great-step-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held on Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison.
Reverend Kurt Kaiser and Reverend David Sewing officiated the service and grave side rites. Burial was at the
Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in the Garden of Good Shepherd. Karen Kahl was the organist for the congregational hymns,
"The Old Rugged Cross," "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," and "Rock of Ages, Cleft for Me."
Pallbearers were Nate Hoffmeier, Dan Forbes, Eric Kaub, Josh Hoffmeier, Ryan Jepsen, and Hal Kaub.
The family invited everyone back to the church after the committal service for a luncheon served by the Dorcas Society.
