JAMES JACKSON WOODRUFF IS DEAD

SALT LAKE, Dec 9 - James Jackson Woodruff, son of the late Wilford Woodruff, died Thursday at his home, 133 North West Temple street. He was born in Winter Quarters, Neb. May 25, 1847, and arrived in Salt Lake in September of that year, being the youngest pioneer to make this trip, it is believed.

He later aided immigrants coming to Utah to join the L.D.S. Church and was employed for 38 years by Z.C.M.I.

Mr. Woodruff is survived by his widow, Mrs. Fannie Lloyd Woodruff, and following son and daughters: Mrs. Mary W. Ensign, Dr. J. Lloyd Woodruff and Mrs. J. H. Johnson. Fourteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters also survive: Asahel Woodruff, Mrs. Clara W. Beebe, Mrs. J. J. Daynes, David P. Woodruff, Ensign Woodruff, Newton Woodruff, Marion Woodruff, Mrs. Belle Moses, John Woodruff and Mrs. Julia W. Park.

WOODRUFF RITES SET FOR SUNDAY - SALT LAKE, Dec 10. – Funeral services for James J. Woodruff who died Thursday, will be held Sunday at 12:30 p.m., in the Seventeenth ward chapel. Bishop Nicholas G. Smith will officiate.

James J. Woodruff - Funeral services for James J. Woodruff, who died Thursday will be held Sunday at 12:30 p. m. in the Seventh ward chapel. Bishop Nicholas G. Smith will officiate.

The body may be viewed 9 a. m. until noon at the home, 132 North West Temple street. Interment will be in the City Cemetery under the direction of the Deseret mortuary.
