Curtis Lenwood Shelton departed this life on Monday, July 14, 2008 at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA.
He was born August 15, 1938 to the late Frank Shelton, Sr. and Lowrine Jackson Shelton in Louisa County. Besides his parents, his sister, Edith Bland, preceded him in death.
He attended the Louisa County Public Schools and worked as a chef in Atlantic City, NJ and was last employed by VDOT of Louisa County.
Curtis professed Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, was baptized and joined Rising Sun Baptist under the pastoral leadership of Rev. J. L. Tyler.
Left to cherish his sweet memories are his sons: Timothy Shelton, Curtis Shelton, Jr. (Nainm Shakur), of Atlantic City, NJ, Richard (Ricky) Shelton, of Charlottesville, VA; daughters: Charlene Shelton, Theresa Shelton ,of Atlantic City, NJ, Stacy Anderson, of Gordonsville, VA, Lisa Johnson Hughes, of Louisa, VA; step-children: Maxine Keaton (Xabier), Marcella Bullock (Gary), Floyd Anderson (Phyllis), Peggy Anderson, Clyde Anderson Carlton and Allen Walker (Ceceila); brothers: Frank Shelton, Jr. (Carol), Leroy Shelton (Madlyn), Harvey Shelton and Clarance Shelton (Belle); devoted brother-in-law, Shakspeare Bland; devoted sister, Lucille Pryor; aunt, Lorraine Jackson, of Mineral, VA and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins,(two devoted cousins, Russell Mickens and Ray Shelton), other relatives and friends.
Funeral services held on Saturday, July 19, 2008, at 2pm at Rising Sun Baptist Church, with the Reverend Frederick Sales officiating. Interment Rising Sun Baptist Church Cemetery.
