Calvin E. Baggess [Calvin W. Boggess] died Friday morning [Nov 1, 1901] at 7 o'clock at his home, two and one-half miles northwest of Decatur, aged 71 years. His death was due to paralysis. He leaves a wife and son. The funeral will be held at 11 o'clock Sunday morning at Boiling Spring's church. The funeral procession will leave the house at 10 o'clock and the interment will be at Boiling Spring's church. (Herald and Review, Decatur, IL, Nov 5, 1901)
