Elsie Walsh Vickers, 71 of Concord, FL, died Monday, November 17, 2003 at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee. Graveside services were held Friday, November 21 at Concord Cemetery in Concord, with Pastor Gordon Adank of Concordia Baptist Church officiating. Mrs. Vickers was born January 8, 1932 in Gadsden County, the daughter of Miles and Eva Walsh. She was a lifelong resident of Concord, and a member of Concordia Baptist Church. Elsie devoted her life to her grandchildren, and was well known for her beautiful hand made quilts. Survivors include here three sons, David Vickers and wife, Bertha, and Ray Vickers, both of Concord and Emory Vickers and wife, Susie of Havana; two daughters, Jeannie Dawkins and husband, Pat of Havana and Gloria Fountain and husband, Jack of Live Oak, FL; her brother, Frank Walsh of Concord; two sisters, Hazel Newton of Orange Park, FL and Margaret Poggie of Tallahassee; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
