Charles P. Clapp b. Nov. 23, 1829. d. Oct. 11, 1902. He was the son of John L. Clapp and Lydia Hamilton. He married Rachel Head b. Nov 5, 1832. d. Feb 23, 1899.

The Clapp genealogy gives only Charles's birthdate and marriage to Rachel Head. No children were noted. However, the 1860 Census of Montgomery shows Lydia, age 7, Jesse, age 9/12, Homer H., age 6. Charles was shown as a farmer on the census. He owned a farm on land once owned by Judge Samuel Barnard. He was a selectman of Montgomery from 1869-71.
