Mrs. Elizabeth Frahm Dies in Marshalltown
Mrs. Elizabeth Frahm, a resident of this community for many years, passed away Sunday afternoon at 4:15 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Catherine Doyen in Marshalltown, following a long illness.
She had been a resident of Marshalltown for the past ten years and had been in failing health since last November and had been confined to her bed for eight months. Death was due to colitis.
Mrs. Frahm was born Elizabeth Schmidt, in Germany, Nov. 25, 1864, the daughter of Adam and Anna Schmidt. At the age of 16 years she came with her parents to America, settling in Poweshiek county, Iowa. She lived in and near Grinnell until going to Marshalltown.
She was married to Peter Frahm in Grinnell. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ella Harris, Mrs. Emma Keoppel and Mrs. Catherine M. Doyen, all of Marshalltown, and seven grandchildren.
She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church in Grinnell.
The funeral was held at 10:30 this morning from the Pursel funeral home at Marshalltown and burial was in Riverside.
