He was the son of Benjamin Thomas Aull (1826-1890) and his wife Joanna, nee Carrico (1828-1873). He was baptized as Benjamin Francis Aull and the family early on used the middle name Francis. Later he used Franklin or Frank as the middle name. He married Martha A. Aud on November 18, 1877 in Daviess County, Kentucky. Eleven children were born of the marriage, most of whom were born in Illinois after the family moved there about 1881. Frank was a farmer. (Contr. by William Hartlage #47213121)

Died, at St. John's hospital, at 8 o'clock Tuesday, Sept. 26, 1916, following an operation which had been performed Tuesday morning, B. F. Aull, aged 65 years, of Auburn. Mr. Aull was born in Kentucky and moved to Illinois on a farm near Pawnee. He is survived by five sons, Ernest, of Voltaine, N.D.; Roy, of Morrisonville, Ill.; Oscar, of this city; Frank, of Taylorville, and Ira, of Kincaid; also four daughters, Mrs. Frank McCormick, of Stonington; Mrs. Pat Cray and Mrs. H. R. Jones, of Morrisonville, Ill, and Mrs. Fred Hall, of this city.

The body will be taken to the home of Mrs. Fred Hall, daughter of the deceased this Thursday morning. Friday morning it will be sent to Auburn, where services will be held from the Catholic church. IL State Register, Springifeld, IL 9-28-1916
