Harry Carpenter died at the home of J. Eastman on September 14, 1907. He was born in Warsaw in 1840. Survivors include his wife, Mary M. McColl Carpenter; two sons, William of New Orleans, La., John W. of Pittsburg, Pa.; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Webb of Buffalo, Mrs. Lucy Walker of Taunton, Ma., Mrs. Sarah Cornwell of Independence, Ia. His funeral was held at the M. E. church in Gainesville with burial in Maple Grove.
