Moved to Warsaw in 1831 and commenced the Grocery and Provision business. Married Lucy M. Knapp who died 12/5/1834. 2nd wife was Eliza A.L. Fargo who died 2/9/1854 and had 4 children: Francis M., Lucy Ann E.,Henry H., Sarah J. Married a 3rd wife, Mrs. Kate Mosher of Warsaw.
Erasmus D. CARPENTER, 1807-1892, was the son of Jesse and Dolly (HERRICK) CARPENTER. Jesse Carpenter came to LeRoy, Genesee, New York, in 1810. (contributed by Sally Bailey)

Died of the grip at the home of his daughter, Mrs. D.C. Webb, aged 84 years and 7 months. 4 children, Mrs. D.C. Webb of Warsaw; Mrs. J.C. Walker of Taunton, Mass., Henry H. Carpenter of Gainesville and Mrs. Sarah J. Cornwell of Independence, Iowa.
