Dr. Simons, 74, died June 26, 2000, in Colorado Springs after a long illness. He was a lifelong educator and administrator in eastern Colorado and Wyoming.
Dr. Simons was born July 23, 1925, in Rush Springs, Okla., to Pugh and Willie Belle (Franklin) Simons, who are deceased. He was married Oct. 28, 1944, to Treba Leora Shotts.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Lynda Rhoades; two sons, Mike and Mark; a sister, LuVeta Blades; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Pugh D.
Services were held. Inurnment was at Memory Gardens, Fort Morgan. Joliffe Mortuary, 225 E. Platte Ave., Fort Morgan, (970) 867-5414, handled arrangements.
