Mrs. Margarette Alice Bays, 65, who came to Wagoner when it was still a part of the Indian Territory and continued to make her home here until her death, died, September 24, 1940 at her home Tuesday afternoon after a brief illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bays were held Thursday afternoon in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. D. H. Corwin, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of the Hersman Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bays is survived by two daughters; Mrs. Joe Burkholder, Wagoner, and Mrs. L.H. Patrick, Muskogee, and two sons Henry Bays and Allen Bays, both of Wagoner.
