Eugene "Tucky" Barry of San Angelo died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 80 years old. He was a Methodist. He graduated from Bellville High School and served for three years in the Army Infantry in the South Pacific during World War II. "Slim" worked many years for Alexander Construction as a carpenter. He was a quiet Christian man and loved his home and family. "Honee," as his children and grandchildren lovingly called Mr. Barry, had a wonderful sense of humor and his loving kindness and gentleness will be remembered always by those whose lives he touched. Preceding him in death were an infant nephew, James David Barry; his parents, C.M. Barry and wife, Maggie Glenn Barry; two sisters and a brother, Margaret Barry Wilson Grube, Ruth Barry and Claude Barry; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, including Nola Belle Eastman Barry; and his 22-year-old daughter, Holly Barry Howard. Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Ginny; children, Nola Gene Barry Straughn and husband, Fred, Claudia Barry Bellemore, and Nathan Paul Barry and wife, Dee Duggan Barry; grandchildren, Monica Straughn Swinford and husband, Tim, Jason Straughn, Erica Straughn, A'ndrea Bellemore McAdams and husband, Lacy, John Parker Barry and Paul Tanner Barry; one great-granddaughter, Grace Estelle McAdams; a brother, James Steck Barry; loving sisters-in-law and brother-in-law; cousins, nieces, nephews, including cherished nephew Paul Stephen Little; and special friends. Public visitation will be from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Robert Massie Funeral Home and a private family funeral services in Bellville, Texas, with Lacy McAdams officiating.
