Woman, 103, Dies, Native of Pitman
Mrs. Lena Adams, 103 years of age, of Washington Twp., Dornsife RD, eldest
resident of Northumberland County, who was a native of Pitman and a former
resident of Mowry in Schuylkill County, died on Saturday [March 28, 1964] at
10:15 p.m.
Her death occurred in the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
George Kieffer of Dornsife RD. She had been in ill health for three years. Mrs.
Adams was born on Dec. 8, 1860, one of six children, a daughter of the late
Daniel and Caroline Ramer Wolfgang.
Her first husband, George, died in 1892. Her second husband Nathan Adams, died
in 1916. Mrs. Adams was a member of Himmel's United Church of Christ at Rebuck.
Surviving are two daughters, Edith, wife of George Kieffer, Dornsife RD with
whom she lived; and Mrs. Anna Patton, also of Dornsife RD; and a son Oliver
Klinger of Springfield, MA.
There are 18 grandchildren, ?great grandchildren and 46 great-great
grandchildren. Funeral Wednesday afternoon from Himmel's Church at Rebuck.
Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. The Rev. Jacob Singer of Herndon,
will officiate at services. Lawrence E. Rothermel, Klingerstown, is in charge
of- arrangements.
