He was the father of Michael J., Bernard J., Miss Rita Margaret, Mrs. Robert (Virginia) Werts and Mrs. Larry (Frances) Zugelder. Also surviving are 3 sisters, 19 grandchildren and a great grandson. Funeral 8:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 1970, at Harris Funeral Home, 49 Linden Av. and 8:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Burial Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, Septermber 25, 1970.

Born in Midland, he was a son of the late William and Elizabeth (Cavanaugh) Canty. His wife, Catherine (Feldman) Canty, preceded him in death. He is survived by two sons, Michael Canty and Bernard Canty, and two daughters, Mrs, Virginia Wertz and Mrs. Frances Zugelder, Akron; and three sisters, Mrs. William Woods, Alexandria, Va., and Mrs. Isaac Stakem and Mrs. James Fair, Midland. Services and interment will be held Saturday in Dayton.
