Mrs. Manley Dead at 92 In Tarentum

Mrs. Lillian manley, 92, of 544 Second avenue, Tarentum, mother of the late Dr. Thomas H. Manley, Jr., died last evening at 5:15 in Allegheny Valley Hospital. Death followed a lingering illness. Members of the family said Mrs. Manley had been in exceptionally good health until shortly before entering the hospital some six weeks ago. She was a long-time member of Second Ward Auxiliary to Allegheny Valley Hospital, and represented the fourth generation of her family in the organization. She was also a member of the Second Ward Auxillary to Allegheny Valley YMCA and Tarentum Maccabee Lodge. Until two years ago, she regularly attended the annual News-Lions Over-80 Ladies dinner. A native of Cape May, N. J., Mrs. Manley was born July 24, 1861. She had lived in Tarentum for the past 66 years. Her son, Dr. Manley, a Tarentum eye specialist, died Nov. 10, 1950. Her Husband, Thomas H. Manley, Sr., an employee of the old Allegheny Steel Co., died in 1928. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Harry Degroot, St. Petersburg, Fla., six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
