In our 13 years together Beausoleil became a great friend and confidante. She used to love to give kisses and was always at my heels following her Mommy around. She looked like a cat from behind and often washed her face with her paws like a cat. She could get into mischief as she would run after squirrels, birds and groundhogs in the back yard. Beausoleil often barked and pawed at the vacuum cleaner which she detested. She would often bark at larger dogs, forgetting that she was only 6 lbs. She was very funny to watch. Everyone loved her, from the kids in the neighborhood to strangers on the street.
Beausoleil loved to go for car rides and sunbathe. She didn't like getting baths and hated going to potty in the snow or rain. She also had favorite squeak toys that she would chew until they no longer made noise. Her favorites were shaped like a human foot and another a chicken leg. She was a very finicky eater and would delight in the occasional plain fast food burger. Beausoleil liked having sleep overs with her sister and litter mate Minnie. She didn't get into much trouble around the house except for teething on my "Gift Of The Magi" book ( I still have her baby teeth & a lock of hair) and she and her sister Minnie playing tug-o-war with my baby picture.
In March of 2006 Beausoleil started breathing abnormally and I had my Mother take her to the Vet. I had no idea that would be the last time I would see my baby girl. Ma returned home with the news that Beausoleil had to be euthanized. She had heart and lung ailments brought on by old age.
My family & I love & miss her so much, always in our hearts.
