SYLVIA — Kathy Burgey, 56, died Feb. 21 at her home in Sylvia. Born Nov. 14, 1952, at Hutchinson, she was the daughter of Joseph and Maxine Albright Bruer. She was a Sylvia resident for most of her life. She was a homemaker and a librarian for the Sylvia Library.
Mrs. Burgey was a member of the Sylvia United Methodist Church and was a Cub Scout volunteer. On Aug. 25, 1977, she married Daniel Burgey. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Dawn Malmstrom of Sylvia; a son, Joe Burgey of Hutchinson; a sister, Theresa Kraus of Scandia; and two grandchildren: Brent Malmstrom and Cierra Westfahl.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Minnis Chapel, Stafford, with the Rev. Harry Graves presiding. Burial will be at the Sylvia Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. today at the chapel. Memorials may be sent to the church or Trails West E.M.S., both in care of the chapel.
