Sylvia - Joe Bruer, 47, died Wednesday north of Sylvia in his truck after a heart attack. Born Oct. 16, 1923, at Colville, Wash., he married Maxine Albright Oct 16, 1946, at Pretty Prairie. He was district service man for Kansas Power & Light and had lived here most of this life.



He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Sylvia; City Council; American Legion Post; Stafford County Rifle Association.



Survivors include the widow; daughters: Kathy Jo and Theresa Elaine, of the home; brothers: John, Sterling; Martin, Wichita; Roger, Lynwood, Calif.; Pete, Chicago, Ill.; George, Brunswick, Ga.; sisters: Mrs. Lyle McKinney, Arlington; Mrs. Ed Gattis, Huntsville, Ala.; Mrs. Wallace Zimmerman, RFD 1, Hutchinson; Ann, Milwaukee, Wis.



Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the grade school gymnasium, Sylvia. Rev. Otis Webb and Rev. David Trott. Burial will be in Sylvia Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 9:30 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the Peacock-Milton Memorial Chapel, Stafford
