Alice Peters, 94, of Amarillo died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in North Amarillo Church of Christ with Glen Walton officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Mrs. Peters was born July 3, 1914, in Duke, Okla. She was raised in Duke and was a graduate of Duke High School.

She married George D. Peters in 1950. He passed away in 1996.

Mrs. Peters lived most of her life in Amarillo. She ran the snack bar at St. Anthony's Hospital for many years.

She was a very devoted member of North Amarillo Church of Christ for many years, and had a great love for her church and church family. She was a great fan of Palo Duro High School athletics, especially football. She was an avid fisherman and caught the state record pike in Lake Meredith in the early 1970s.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Texan Nursing and Rehab.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Peters, in 1996; a daughter, Patsy Hill; two brothers; three sisters; a grandson; and a great-grandson.

Survivors include a daughter, Nadine Crafton of Amarillo; a son, Leon Hill and wife Marilyn of Amarillo; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
