Miss Ella Banfield, daughter of James M. Banfield, 1304 North Oakland avenue, died at 7 o'clock Sunday morning at St. Mary's hospital. She became ill two weeks ago and submitted to an operation. The operation did not give her relief and she grew steadily worse. During the last week her sufferings were intense. She was born near Blue Mound May 17, 1870 and was a member of the First Christian church. She had been a resident of Macon county for the last 47 years and was well known in and around Decatur. Her pleasant dispostion gained her many friends. Miss Banfield made her home with her aged father and niece, Miss Nora Banfield. Besides her father, she leaves the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Susan McDaniel, Mrs. Bertha Logan, Mrs. Anna Logan, William and Oliver Banfield, all of Decatur. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the family residence. Interment will be in Boiling Springs cemetery.
