First son and third child of James Gale & Sarah Ann Tompson of their fourteen children. George was born in Beaver, Utah as the first male child of James Gale. His two older sisters, Sarah & Harriet began the James Gale family of Beaver births and concluded with the birth of Agnes and Olive. After that Georges brothers and sisters would be born in Snowflake & Pima, Arizona, then into Chihuahua, Mexico and last brother and sister in Franklin, Arizona.

George was a hard worker all his life, mostly working as a farmer and occasionally as a freight hauler with his wagon and horses.

On long trips away from home he would on the return trip home stop and pick some wild rose flowers for his sweetheart and present them to her upon his arrival. This token of love was so often performed and well known by his children that both parents have a wild rambling rose carved into their tomb stones.

George like his father James, served as a Sunday School Superintendent and attended Church where ever he lived. His children were faithful in their attendance and learned the Gospel of Jesus Christ at the teachings of their parents.

George died early in life at the age of 59 of Pleurisy, an inflamation and excess water on his lungs. His sons found he had died at home and drove their wagon to the Chandler High School to inform my mother Elsie, that their father had deceased. She cried as she said she had lost her best friend. Though my mother recovered, eventualy married and had her own children she never forgot the love for her parents and especially for her Dad.
