HOWELL TIDMORE

Funeral services for Howell C. Tidmore, 84, of Athens were held Wednesday, July 10, at 4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Athens with the Rev. Charles Gwaltney officiating.

Internment was in the Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Tidmore, grandfather of Robert Tidmore of Frankston, died in an Athens hospital at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Van Zandt County March 25, 1890, and lived all his life in Van Zandt and Henderson Counties. He mainly resided in the Murchison area in Henderson County. He was a retired farmer and rancher.

Mr. Tidmore and Johnnie Stover were married in Martins Mill January 17, 1907. '

He was a member of the Baptist Church as well as a member of the Ben Wheeler Masonic Lodge AF&FM.

He is survived by his wife, six sons, Ellis E. Tidmore of Athens, E. Maynard Tidmore of Tollison, Ariz., Elmo Tidmore of Lubbock, D.J. Tidmore of Murchison, C.W. Tidmore of Athens and William Tidmore of Tyler; four daughters, Mrs. Earlene Palmer of Dallas, Miss Edna Earl Tidmore of Houston, Mrs. Frances Fulgham of Malakoff, and Mrs. Mary Lee Hobbs of Big Springs; 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were conducted by the Ben Wheeler Masonic Lodge.
