Oda Winkler, 91, former resident of West Third Street, died in Rowland's Nursing Home at 12:45 a.m. today after several months of failing health. He entered the nursing home four weeks ago.

A resident of Rushville and Rush County most of his life, Mr. Winkler was both a retired farmer and a retired International Furniture Factory employee.

Mr. Winkler, who formerly resided on a farm north of Mays for many years, was a member of the Sexton Christian Church.

He was born in Cynthiana, Kentucky, on November 8, 1872, a son of Lewis Davis Winkler Jr. and Emily J. White Winkler. On November 27, 1895, in Johnson County, he was married to Grace Winkler, his second cousin, who died in 1935.

Survivors include a son, Wilbur Winkler, and three daughters, Mrs. Roy (Mabel) Whittaker, Mrs. Everett (Edith) Lee and Mrs. Herschel (Helen) Hankins, of of Rushville, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Mrs. Dora Winkler of Rushville is a sister-in-law.

The Rev. Charles Brackman will conduct services at 2 p.m. Friday at Moster and Sons Mortuary, where friends may call after 2 p.m.Thursday, with burial in East Hill Cemetery.
