Seibert was born in Manassa, Colorado. His parents moved to Utah when he was about ten months old. His father irrigated farms for other people, so they moved often for a few years; from Vernal, to Jensen, and then to Dry Fork.
Seibert was strong and often found himself in scrapes. At the age of 15, he left home. He traveled and lived with various people and worked at numerous jobs.
Returning to Salt Lake City, he met Eunice Graham and they were married in December of 1932. Seibert did house painting and various jobs to earn a living. When he was 28 he joined the Navy and was sent to Germany and Japan during World War II. His absence from his home and family caused problems and he and Eunice were divorced in 1938.
After he released himself from the Navy, he owned a restaurant and bar in Salt Lake City. After some time he married Irene Clark. It was a difficult marriage and ended in divorce ten years later.
Seibert spent some time with his mother and his boys, who were then grown. He enjoyed going out to Roosevelt and the Uintah Basin. On one of these trips he had a massive heart attack and died before medical attention could arrive. He was buried in Salt Lake Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.
