Funeral service for Gladys Autrey, age 81, of Bernice will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 14, 2009 at First United Methodist Church in Bernice, LA. Officiating the service will be Rev. Johnnie Adkins. Interment will follow at Bernice cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.
Mrs. Autrey was born March 27, 1927 and passed away February 12, 2009.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of forty two years, Rudolph Autrey; infant daughter, Linda Autrey; her parents; four brothers; two sisters; and an infant great granddaughter, Savannah Massey.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Merritt of Gibsland, and Debra Prince and husband Billy of West Monroe; son, Randy Autrey of West Monroe; daughter, Tanya Head and husband Steven of Bossier, City; surrogate son, Scottie Toner and wife Michelle of West Monroe; sister, Irene Ketchum of Cotton Valley; brother, Ardis Hanson of Sarepta; five granddaughters; one surrogate grandson; nine great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Merritt, Jessie Merritt, Larry Ketchum, Tommy Welch, Ryan Poskey and Paul Holoman.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, February 13, 2009 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Bernice.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Alpine Guest Care, Professional Hospice Care, Kathy McCallum Spears and her staff.
