Clementia was the daughter of John Stuart Hopkins Sr. and Mary Parrett. She married Charles Edward Tombler on 22 June 1865 in Indiana.

In 1880 Charles and Clementia were living in Evansville. Charles was a bookkeeper.

In 1900 Clementia, widowed, and her daughter Mary were living in Wyoming, Chisago County, Minnesota. Clementia is the mother of 6 children, 5 living.

In 1920 Clementia is living with her daughter, Mary Tombler Grathwol and her husband Philip and their son Philip Jr., age 9 in Chicago. Philip Sr. was born in about 1871 in New York.
