Bernard "Sam" L. Beamer, 49, of 740 Torway Road, Gardners, died suddenly Thursday evening, June 28, at Carlisle Hospital.
Born in York Springs, he was the son of Percy R. and Bertha I. Chronister Beamer, of 522 Bendersville Wenksville Road, Aspers.
He had been an employee of R. F. Truesdell Trucking Company of Biglerville, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Carlisle.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy M. Shughart, to whom he was married for 27 years; one daughter, Patricia A. Wilson of Gardners; one son, Danny Lee Beamer of Gardners; three sisters, Myrna R. Breighner of Gardners, Sonja Jean Brough, Aspers, and Victoria A. Baumgardner of Louisville, Ohio; one brother, Gary "Bub" E. Beamer of Gettysburg; one grandson and one stepgranddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from the Dugan Funeral Home, Bendersville, with the Rev. Kevin H. Hughes officiating.
Interment will be in the Wenksville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
