“Robert S. Bulington, 73, 7633 E Independence Road, Attica (Independence), died at 4:15 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2003 at his residence. He was born December 16, 1929 in Monon, the son of George Stanley and Dora May Clark Bulington. He married Ruth R. Hughes October 22, 1949 in Monon. She survives.

He was raised in White County and attended Monon High School. He later lived in Tippecanoe County for nine years, Jasper County for five years and moved to Warren County in 1965. He had resided in Independence since 1974.

He had worked for the Monon Railroad. He worked for 17 years for the Indiana State Highway Department where he was a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 1992. He had also worked as a farm hand and drove trucks. He enjoyed raising Long Horn cattle, making hay and raising llamas for enjoyment. He loved being with his family.

Survivors, besides the wife, include: four sons, Robert D. (Jessie) Bulington, Independence, G. Stephen (Beth) Bulington, Nashville, Georgia, Kevin L. (Cheryl) Bulington, Lafayette and Edward B. (Yvette) Bulington, Independence; four daughters, Carol R. (David) Morris, West Point, Karen M. Mitchell, Borden, Luana B. (James L.) Watkins, Winthrop and Kathy J. Biddle, Crawfordsville; two sisters, Lois M. Lindquist, Monticello and Ruth O. (Jack) Sizemore, Swazey; five brothers, Edwin G. (Faith) Bulington, Lacrosse, Lowell Lynn (Darleen) Bulington, Tuscon, Arizona, Morris G. (Jennie) Bulington, Monon, Zelith D. (Joyce) Bulington, Marion and Roger C. Bulington, New York, New York; 24 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Pearl E. Frederick; and a brother, Thomas Creighton Bulington.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with Daniel Jordon officiating. Burial was in Independence Cemetery.
