Mollie Taylor Blankenship was the daughter of William N. and Sarah Evelyn Wooldridge Blankenship of Russell County, Kentucky. The family traveled in a covered wagon from Kentucky to Texas, where Mollie was born.

Siblings: Tilden, Mary B."Lennie", Elizabeth "Lizzie", Roscoe Owen, Arazonia "Zona" and William B. "Willie".

Due to her father's poor health the family decided to move from Texas to IT (Oklahoma). Mollie's father William died of typhoid fever complications in 1896, in IT (Eufaula, OK). The family then moved on to the now Wagoner,OK area, where her brother found work as a farm laborer. The oldest son living at home, Roscoe Owen worked to support his mother, three sisters and baby brother. The 1920 census of Mayes County,OK listed several of the Blankenship siblings,their mother Sarah and cousins.

Mollie, her husband Bill and children were living in Texas County, Hooker Township in the 1930 census.
