Mrs. Julia Mattice of Delhi died Saturday night at the Delhi Hospital at the age of 85. She had been a patient at the hospital for two days. Mrs. Mattice had been a resident at the Liddle Nursing Home in Bovina Center.
Private services were held at seven o'clock Tuesday evening at the McCall Funeral Home. The Rev. Edwin A. Hubbard, paster of the Schenevus Baptist Church was the officiating clergeyman. Burial was in the Woodland Cemetery at Delhi.
She was born July 10, 1871, the daughter of Alfred and Carolyn Anderson Bates, and married Chancey Mattice. Mr. Mattice died in 1925. Mrs. Mattice was a member of the First Baptist Church of Delhi.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Spague of Winterhaven, Fla; a sister, Miss Lucinda Bates, of Oneonta; a grandson, Albert Sprague of Landing, N.J.; a nephew, Rev. E. A. Hubbard.
