Ogden Standard Examiner, Ogden, Utah, May 11, 1924 Death Calls Aged Matron Mrs. F.J. Hendershot Had Resided in Ogden 33 Years Mrs. Matilda Gates Hendershot, wife of F.J. Hendershot, commander of the local G.A.R. post died Saturday afternoon after a four weeks illness. She was born May 12, 1848 at Beallsville, Ohio and has been a resident of Ogden for 33 years. She was a member of the Christian church for 60 years.

Besides her husband the following sons and daughters survive her: Mrs. Archie P. Bigelow, of Ogden, Mrs. W. V. Cassidy of Berkeley, Cal., C.A. Hendershot and Frank J. Hendershot of Los Angeles Robert B. Hendershot of Ogden, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and three brothers and sisters. Mrs. Dorothea Bigelow Browning, Lamont B. Hendershot of Ogden, Florence Hendershot of Los Angeles, and Burnett W. Fouts of Berkeley, Cal., are the surviving grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later. The body was taken to the Kirkendall undertaking establishment.

Ogden Standard Examiner, Ogden, Utah, May 12, 1924 Funeral services for Matilda Gates Hendershot, wife of F.J. Hendershot, will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the First Christian church at the corner of Twenty-fourth Street and Madison Avenue, with Rev. Dr. J.E. Stebbins officiating with the assistance of the Rev. John Edward Carver of the First Presbyterian church. The body may be viewed at the family home, 805 Twenty-fourth Street, from 10 o'clock Tuesday morning until time of the services. Interment will be in the City cemetery under the direction of the Kirkendall undertakers.
