Mrs. Felger was a life-long resident and a homemaker. Odean was the oldest member of the Old Springfield United Church of Christ. She joined the church in 1933 and taught Sunday School for forty years and served on many committees over the years. Mrs. Felger enjoyed quilting, weaving rugs, gardening and sewing. She received many blue ribbons at the Canfield Fair for her needlepoint and baking.
Odean was preceded in death on December 29, 1992, by her husband, Carl J. Felger. They were married February 8, 1933. Survivors include two daughters Shirley A. Curry and her husband James of New Springfield, Twila Ongerth of Cocoa, Florida; a son Donald E. Felger and his wife Donna of Poland; a brother Russell Parks and his wife Margaret of Canfield; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great granddaughters. Mrs. Felger was preceded in death by a daughter Dorothy Sigle, six brothers Howard, Floyd, Jr., Stanley, Warren, Paul, and Luther Parks; two sisters Betty Weber and Arlene Dyce; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 19, 2008 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima with Rev. Dale Crum officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Youngstown. Friends may call from 9-11:00 a.m. prior to the service on Friday at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima. Family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Old Springfield United Church of Christ.
