JACKSON W. BRANDON

Jackson W. Brandon, 920 Brandon St., died Sunday at 5:30 p.m. in a local rest home at the age of 79.
Born May 20, 1889 in York County, SC, he was a son of the late W.L. and Sallie Bolin Brandon. A Gastonia resident 40 years, he was a retired farmer and textile worker.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Laura Roach Brandon; five sons, Boyd, Floyd, Boyce Les, James D. and Jerry Ray Brandon, all of Gastonia; one daughter, Mrs. Sallie Hendricks of Gastonia; one brother, W.L. Brandon of Denmark, SC; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Bolin of Sharon, SC; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Brandon was a former deacon at Temple Baptist Church, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. The pastor, the Rev. S. Guy Walker, will officiate. Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
The body will lie in state one hour prior to services. Friends will be received Monday, 7 to 9 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home.
