MRS. MARTHA N. HOWELL DIES
OREGON CITY, Or., Jan. 29,--(Special)--Mrs. Martha Naomi Crawford Howell of Gladstone, widow of the late Dr. S.D. Howell, early pioneer, died suddenly of heart trouble today. Mrs. Howell was born in Arkansas, October 17, 1843, and came to Oregon in 1869, crossing the plains by ox team. In 1907 she moved to Gladstone.

***Daughter of John Crawford and Frances A. Buchanan married to Dr. Squire Davis Howell on November 15, 1860 in Fayetteville, Washington Co., Arkansas.


NOTE: There is one stone in the family plot with only "son" so probably was a child who died at birth.
