Gloria Davis Roberson, 60, born 1 Feb 1937, of Hortense, died Tuesday, 3 Jun 1997, after a short illness.
A native of Brantley County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Preston Davis and Ruth Mae Chancey Davis. She was a homemaker and was a member of Satilla Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Alvin L. Roberson of Hortense; four sons, Mike L. Roberson of Hortense, Albert P. Roberson and Joseph A. Roberson, both of Jacksonville, FL, and Charles A. Roberson of Jesup; a sister, Patricia Bayley of Green Cove Springs, FL; four brothers, Donald Davis Jerry Davis, Edward Davis and Sammy Davis, all of Hortense; three grandchildren, Justin Roberson, Jessica Roberson, both of Hortense and Codey Roberson of Jesup; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, from the Satilla Baptist Church with the Rev. R.C. Mathis and the Rev. Robin Adams officiating. Burial was in the Hortense Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Len Davis, Scott Moody, Wayne Davis, Timmy Davis, Dale Roberson and Thomas Proudfoot.
Honorary pallbearers were Carswell Royster, Jack Waittes, Charles Brauda, Homer Anderson and George Harper.
